THE 2016 JUDGES
In 2016, our panel of judges is made up of 6 exceptionally-talented Canadian Wedding Photographers hand-picked by the staff here at CPC.
Our judges are:
A lot has changed since I first held a disposable camera in my hands at the age of four. For one, I traded the throwable kind for a DSLR. My passion for photography only grew stronger as the years went by. After working as a neurology technician for a few years, I decided to go back to school, enrolling in Dawson’s Commercial Photography program, and completed an internship with Davina + Daniel. I have been living and breathing photography for the last few years – and haven’t looked back since!
Photography is my happy drug! That may sound crazy or cliche, but if you saw me shoot or if you’re anything like me, you’d get it! My personality has been described enthusiastic (exuberant, even) and outgoing with a knack for making those around me feel comfortable. I’ve been shooting professionally for five years and I specialize in weddings and boudoir.
Every journey includes plenty of unexpected detours and adventure, and mine started in Santiago, Chile (where I was born), took me around the world, and has landed me in Edmonton, where I live with my love (who I met while we were both on a travel adventure), and our fur babies. As a matter of fact, I’m still on that adventure: travelling, taking photos, and making new friends.
I am a wedding photographer with a home base in Kingston and Ottawa, shooting anywhere in between and beyond, packing the KMs on my Subaru! I live for snowboarding, mountain bike riding and play-time with my two daughters! My work days are filled with photographing really cool people who have a lust for adventure and the outdoors. I like bold coffee, BBQ and making photos with couples who aren’t scared to hop fences, climb trees or trudge through knee deep snow.
Back when I was in college, I was given the opportunity to be a photographer for a documentary made in Africa. The time I spent there will always hold a special place in my heart. Experiencing the people and taking in the culture in such a different setting really changed my life, and I am very happy that I am able to go back and visit these moments through all of my pictures. They show much more than just faces and places; they show how people live and not just where they live. I will capture your wedding memories the same way. My pictures document so much more than the happy couple on their big day. They are about the relationships within the friends and families and illustrate the joy of not just the moment, but of the future you are starting together and the tiny details that make you and your day so special. I want you to be able to look back at these memories and recollect those feelings of happiness and excitement just as I can with my trip to Africa, because when you have that life-changing event, it is wonderful to be able to live that moment all over again.
