I am a recent graduate from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Alberta but I was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I got a degree in journalism and have done work at some small town newspapers but I have since stopped to focus on wedding photography.
Tell us what your one must-have piece of gear is and why:
One must-have piece of gear for me is a 35mm prime lens. My strong point with wedding photography is catching moments I feel and the 35 is a great lens for story telling.
Tell us what your one must-have piece of software is and why:
Lightroom. Because it allows users to see all the photos and see which should be edited easier unlike Photoshop.
What’s your advice for someone just starting out?
That gear doesn’t matter. Starting out I spent too much time worrying about gear and what I need to make a picture rather than focusing on what gear I have now and get the best results out of them.
